The Best Hoodie You Can Buy
We make the best hoodie you can buy. It's that simple, and we aren't shy about it. Comfortable, heavy, 100% cotton, garment dyed, made in LA. If you think you know a better one, let us know, we're up for the debate.
We know this as a fact, but convincing you or other consumers is a whole different thing. Just making something great, doesn’t mean you can sell it. That is where the marketing comes in, this has always been the hardest part of building Arvin Goods for us. We are creatives, we are product junkies, we are not natural marketers. At some level we just hope that the product speaks for itself and word of mouth takes over. But, thats a big hope. Marketing is all trends, how do you keep your brand messaging consistent but deliver it in the most current way possible. Over the past year or so we have played with all kinds of different visual, and story telling ideas on social media. Some perform, some do not. This year we decided to try something different and tell a product story through a series of videos set in Seattle. The social media “series” is the trend…
The Hard Part: Telling the Story
After many, many conversations, story boards, ideas, debates. We landed on “someone leaves their sweatshirt behind on a plane, or uber, or something”. Forgetting your hoodie somewhere is a universal experience, and it can be tragic if it’s one of your favorites. The criteria for this was it had to be connecting directly to Seattle locations, and we needed 2 people who could help bring this to life in a funny, fun, and entertaining way. Reminder, we aren’t marketers, we have never made content like this, and generally speaking this is terrifying. Just buy the hoodie!😂 But we worked with some folks to build a team, and create the series, “Your Friends Favorite Hoodie”.
Your Friend's Favorite Hoodie
There is nothing more uniquely Seattle than our ferries, so thats where we decided to start the journey. You'll have to follow along as Nathan annoys Robbie through the city tracking down his favorite hoodie that he (annoyingly) left on the Bainbridge ferry babbling about mob movies and Tom Hanks. Check it out, stay tuned, and let us know what you think.
It's Seattle, it's a great hoodie, and it's us figuring out how to tell a story in a new way.
